For most interviews, men should wear a suit and tie. The most common
interview suit colors are navy blue, gray or a subtle pinstripe. Brown
suits are also acceptable, although black suits are often too formal and
dressy. Leather lace-up or slip-on shoes with socks that coordinate
with the color of the suit are a must -- no gym shoes or white athletic
socks. The tie should be silk, either solid color or a subtle pattern;
no knit ties. Belt and shoes should match or closely coordinate. Jewelry
should be kept to a minimum, although a class ring or wedding ring and a
watch are fine.
